What Are The Best Philadelphia Bars And Restaurants To Work At?
I recently moved to Philadelphia and I want to start working as a bartender, but I don't know where to apply. I'd like somewhere fun with lots of energy, preferable in old city or center city. So tell me your favorite places to go, or work, or places to stay away from.

Try Olde City...Stay away from the hood places..Neighborhood bars, etc. Maybe like Glam, Heat, Cafe Spice...Or maybe some restaurants..
3 :
In Center City, I would go to Fado or Fox and the Hound. They are both chains, but always busy.

Try Dave and Buster's on Columbus Boulevard. It's a Superarcade for adults and children(until certain hours). It has multiple bars and restaurants. Very exciting and full of energy!!!! Lots of fun things to do. Good Luck!!!

Go work at the Electric Factory- what a fun job that was! Free concerts AND make money. And check out Rock Lobster on Delaware Avenue in the summer. CopaCabana on South Street and the Continel in Olde City. And check out the Irish Pub in Center City- 2 of them -I think one is on 12th and Walnut and the other is on 20th-ish and Walnut. Dave and Busters is cool but it is very corporate- if you prefer corporate then try the Hard Rock Cafe- very fun! And the Friday's on the Parkway was always packed. Good luck!!!!!! You just initiated a blast from my past of my hangouts and afew old workplaces-thanks!

If you are good looking and built...try any one of the gay bars.

Women from middle or upper class families did not work. Poor women did the following types of jobs: Washing - doing laundry by hand for other people Maid Cook Farming (milking cows, eggs from chickens) Server in an Inn or Tavern (In 1773, there were over 120 taverns in Philadelphia — 21 taverns on 2nd Street alone.) Seamstress - making clothing Milliner - hat maker Midwife - delivery babies Further info: http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_1741502192_3/Colonial_America_Life_in.html#p103 Here's an interesting interactive website: http://www.hfmgv.org/education/smartfun/colonial/intro/map.html Hope this helps!

About Is living in NJ and working in Philadelphia better than Living in Philadelphia and working in Philadelphia

Is living in NJ and working in Philadelphia better than Living in Philadelphia and working in Philadelphia?
I just started a job in Philadelphia and I currently have my official address in NJ. I know Philadelphia has its own tax, so what will cost me less, living in NJ while working in Philadelphia or living in Philadelphia and working there? I know that if I live in NJ I have to pay Philly, PA, and NJ taxes as opposed to just Philly and PA taxes if I live in Philly. Depending on the percentages of each tax, what will cost me less? I am in the 60K to 70K bracket. Any help would be much appreciated.

if you work in Philly - you will have to pay the Non-residence tax. You won't get any state tax withheld, but you get credit towards the NJ state tax for the Philly tax you pay- it's called a reciprocal tax agreement. If you live in Philly and work in Philly, you will pay the Philly residence tax (which is about 4/10% higher than the non resident tax) AND you pay PA state income tax - 3.07%. - go to paycheckcity.com to calculate paychecks

If you live in NJ and work in Philly, you don't pay PA income tax. PA and NJ have an agreement where if you work in one state and live in the other, you only have to pay the one where you live. So you'd pay Philly non-resident and NJ. If you both live and work in Philly, you pay PA and Philly resident. If you live in PA, outside of Philly, and work in Philly you pay PA and Philly non-resident. The least expensive for taxes especially at your incove level is usually live in a PA suburb, if you're going to work in Philly.

About when you get an email from an IRS employment office from another state does it mean you have to work there

When you get an email from an IRS employment office from another state does it mean you have to work there?
I applied for the IRS through usajobs.gov and I received an email from the IRS saying that I qualify. The email was from the Philadelphia IRS employment office. Does that mean they want me to work in Philadelphia? I live in Southern California, but I will consider the job. Thanks.

Your presumption is correct. It means they want you to work in Philadelphia.
