About enthused worker Looking for a corporate setting to work in Philadelphia/ surrounding area

Enthused worker Looking for a corporate setting to work in Philadelphia/ surrounding area?
I have the raw intangibles, quickly I pick up on people's behavior, allowing myself to take on their persona. Making impressionable connections and being entitled to one's respect and assurance in myself / what I represent is what I hold most dear. I know I have all the right makings in any industry. If you take the time to invest in me I will aid in orchestrating your company's growth and supersede expectations. I bring a positive atmosphere day in and out everywhere i go and it carries over to my peers. I understand customers expectations and needs, at Whole Foods my customer service skills are unmatched. I know how to talk to people of all sorts of backgrounds, I am socially adept and can communicate well with people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. I know what I bring is highly sought after; naturally I can talk, therefore I know I can solicit referrals of equipment and supplies. My skill set would be very beneficial to this role. I am seeking new challenges. Currently I work full time at Whole Foods, and I attending night classes in business administration. I transferred from Widener University studying Psychology and Pre-Physical Therapy. My goal is to earn my BBA, continue to Temple University or Saint Joseph's University School of Business, finishing with my M.B.A. I will send complete resume if interested.

What Are The Best Philadelphia Bars And Restaurants To Work At?
I recently moved to Philadelphia and I want to start working as a bartender, but I don't know where to apply. I'd like somewhere fun with lots of energy, preferable in old city or center city. So tell me your favorite places to go, or work, or places to stay away from.

Try Olde City...Stay away from the hood places..Neighborhood bars, etc. Maybe like Glam, Heat, Cafe Spice...Or maybe some restaurants..
3 :
In Center City, I would go to Fado or Fox and the Hound. They are both chains, but always busy.
4 :
Try Dave and Buster's on Columbus Boulevard. It's a Superarcade for adults and children(until certain hours). It has multiple bars and restaurants. Very exciting and full of energy!!!! Lots of fun things to do. Good Luck!!!
5 :
1. Los Cartrines & Tequila's Restaurant & Bar 1602 Locust St. 215-546-0181 2. Fountain Restaurant/An Award Winning Restaurant 1 Logan St. 215-963-1500 3. Radisson Plaza Warwick Hotel/The Very Best Prime Rib/Steaks 1701 Locust St. 215-735-6000 4. Maggiano's Little Italy/Awesome Italian Food! 1201 Filbert St. 215-567-2020 5. Buddalcan/Great Asian Food 325 Chestnut St. 215-574-9440

Go work at the Electric Factory- what a fun job that was! Free concerts AND make money. And check out Rock Lobster on Delaware Avenue in the summer. CopaCabana on South Street and the Continel in Olde City. And check out the Irish Pub in Center City- 2 of them -I think one is on 12th and Walnut and the other is on 20th-ish and Walnut. Dave and Busters is cool but it is very corporate- if you prefer corporate then try the Hard Rock Cafe- very fun! And the Friday's on the Parkway was always packed. Good luck!!!!!! You just initiated a blast from my past of my hangouts and afew old workplaces-thanks!
7 :
If you are good looking and built...try any one of the gay bars.

Women from middle or upper class families did not work. Poor women did the following types of jobs: Washing - doing laundry by hand for other people Maid Cook Farming (milking cows, eggs from chickens) Server in an Inn or Tavern (In 1773, there were over 120 taverns in Philadelphia — 21 taverns on 2nd Street alone.) Seamstress - making clothing Milliner - hat maker Midwife - delivery babies Further info: http://encarta.msn.com/encyclopedia_1741502192_3/Colonial_America_Life_in.html#p103 Here's an interesting interactive website: http://www.hfmgv.org/education/smartfun/colonial/intro/map.html Hope this helps!

About Is living in NJ and working in Philadelphia better than Living in Philadelphia and working in Philadelphia

Is living in NJ and working in Philadelphia better than Living in Philadelphia and working in Philadelphia?
I just started a job in Philadelphia and I currently have my official address in NJ. I know Philadelphia has its own tax, so what will cost me less, living in NJ while working in Philadelphia or living in Philadelphia and working there? I know that if I live in NJ I have to pay Philly, PA, and NJ taxes as opposed to just Philly and PA taxes if I live in Philly. Depending on the percentages of each tax, what will cost me less? I am in the 60K to 70K bracket. Any help would be much appreciated.

if you work in Philly - you will have to pay the Non-residence tax. You won't get any state tax withheld, but you get credit towards the NJ state tax for the Philly tax you pay- it's called a reciprocal tax agreement. If you live in Philly and work in Philly, you will pay the Philly residence tax (which is about 4/10% higher than the non resident tax) AND you pay PA state income tax - 3.07%. - go to paycheckcity.com to calculate paychecks
2 :
If you live in NJ and work in Philly, you don't pay PA income tax. PA and NJ have an agreement where if you work in one state and live in the other, you only have to pay the one where you live. So you'd pay Philly non-resident and NJ. If you both live and work in Philly, you pay PA and Philly resident. If you live in PA, outside of Philly, and work in Philly you pay PA and Philly non-resident. The least expensive for taxes especially at your incove level is usually live in a PA suburb, if you're going to work in Philly.

About when you get an email from an IRS employment office from another state does it mean you have to work there

When you get an email from an IRS employment office from another state does it mean you have to work there?
I applied for the IRS through usajobs.gov and I received an email from the IRS saying that I qualify. The email was from the Philadelphia IRS employment office. Does that mean they want me to work in Philadelphia? I live in Southern California, but I will consider the job. Thanks.

About volunteer work in philadelphia

Volunteer work in philadelphia?
So for my senior year, i need to do 10 service projects for a final grade. Has anyone any ideas for what i could do? and where i could do it (philadelphia only). If you've had any experiences could you share them and maybe i could try it myself. If your not from philly could i still get some suggestions you've had to do, and made up yourself like the alex's lemonade, or something like that. BTW it HAS to be free work hense the volunteering part, and it can come out of my money or my moms (hehe) but it would be nice if i got ideas that i didn't have to pay for much. thanks!!! :D

You could cook at the Ronald McDonald House. They need meals every night for people who are staying there.
2 :
I'm not sure what you mean by 10 service projects. Are you able to do volunteer work in a social agency or a hospital. And museums, libraries, zoos, animal shelters are all looking for volunteers. Or does it have to be something you do on your own. I can think of a good one. I'm a senior citizen, and I could always use someone to change light bulbs, go on errands, etc. There must be seniors in your neighborhood that would love your help. If you belong to a church or place of worship, you can ask them if they have congregants who could use help. There are people who are house bound who would appreciate a friendly visitor. And there are people in nursing homes who don't have a family member who visits. I hope you can find some ideas here. Good luck.

Do You Have Housing And Work Available In Philadelphia?
Hello, my name is Patricia Watts . I am writing this letter because my family and I need a temporary 4+ bedroom house for less than $500.00 a month. My daughters and I will also provide work (cooking, housekeeping and secretarial services only). We need to move as soon as possible. We are being evicted from our home. We can not afford to pay more because we are a low-income family. Please contact me at my email address: thewatts19121@yahoo.com, or at my daughter's email address: mwatts61680@netzero.com.

About can a person working in Philadelphia PA get unemployment as a resident in NJ

Can a person working in Philadelphia PA get unemployment as a resident in NJ ?
With the ecopnomy the way it is I am nervous about getting laid off. I live in NJ but work in Philadelphia, PA. Would I be elligible for Unemployment if I was let go ?

If you are laid off or fired you will be eligible for unemployment. You would have to file in Philadelphia however.
2 :
I live in PA, but worked for a company in Ohio (telecommuting), and when I was laid off I applied and collected through Pennsylvania. You apply where you live, not where you work (if the two happen to be different states).
3 :
According to the government source link I posted below, "In general, workers are covered by the UI (unemployment insurance) law of the state where the work is performed." "The laws of most states permit employers to elect coverage of workers who perform their services entirely outside the state if they are not covered by any other state or federal UI law. Of the states permitting such elections, residence is required in the state of election in all but Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin." When I lived in Indiana and got laid off in Illinois, I had to apply through Illinois.
4 :
Usually you apply where you live, then an interstate claim is done. For instance I live in SC and work in GA. I will be unemployed as of April 1. I must apply in SC, they will go after GA to pay the UE.

\some Companies will employ you at 14, but I do not know about Conway, give them a call and as. In case they do not have a look at the est of my answer. Listed below are the jobs you can do at 14, the hours, you can work, along with other regulations Ok firstly the law on the hours you can work during school time, and the hours you will be able to work during non school weeks. Hours of Work: Minors Age 14 and 15 - During school weeks: No more than 18 hours per week No more than 3 hours per day on school days No more than 8 hours per day on Saturday or Sunday No more than 6 consecutive days in a pay week Not before 7 am or after 7 pm Minors Age 14 and 15 - Non-school weeks: No more than 40 hours per week No more than 8 hours per day No more than 6 consecutive days in a pay week Not before 7 am or after 7 pm during school year Not before 7 am or after 9 pm from the last day of school to Labor Day with written permission from a parent Just one comment on the above, you need to ask at your school whether you will need a work permit.form from your school giving the schools permission for you to work. If they do, you need to fill out an online form, for a work permit, which will then be signed by your school. This is the website for the work permit form. http://www.ehow.com/how_7449385_work-permit-15-year-old.html It depends on the state, some states you do not need this some states you do. It’s worth checking. Also most states do not allow a 15 year old to have a checkout job at a Supermarket, but any other job is fine. Now the type of jobs you can legally do. At 14 years of age you can do many jobs: • Clerical and office jobs in industrial wholesale, retail, service, and professional establishments. • Hotel jobs. • Sales persons. • Solicitors. • Collectors • Distributors. • Demonstrators. • Delivery jobs other than with a motor vehicle. • Newspaper and magazine delivery over non-residential routes. • Restaurant jobs. • Soda fountain jobs. • Mercantile store jobs. • Supermarket and food store jobs. • Amusement industry jobs. • Standard office type machine operators. • Standard domestic type machine operators. • Hospital and health agency jobs. • Library attendants. • Professional assistants. • Counsellors at camps, beach attendants, lifeguards, caddies, pinsetters. • Domestic helpers, maids, cooks, cleaners, baby-sitters, janitors. • Singers, models, entertainers, dancers, and theatrical work. Fast food outlets. Retail stores

You can legally work in Pa if you are 14 or over, but many places won't hire someone that young. Look at local small businesses like pizza shops or corner stores.
